Our Center

First built in 1904, our facility began as an archetypal Victorian-style church, and has since stood as a cultural and historical landmark within Old Colorado City. Featuring prominent brick and stained-glass work, our building stood out to us as a timeless aesthetic (and somewhat rare!) opportunity to reinvigorate a physical part of Colorado Springs’ story. As such, we’ve taken every opportunity to preserve our building’s heritage, even as we adapt it to meet the changing needs of our community.

Speaking of adaptation, ours is quite extensive! From a new roof and landscaping, to an entirely updated floorplan and interior finishes, to safety and security features such as fire suppression and surveillance, our team is deliberately investing in our building to make it the very best it can be. As our restoration of the building continues to gain momentum (led by the team at StreamHome Construction), we’re excited to share updates here on our website as we approach our grand opening in summer 2026.

Our center will consist of more than just the structure itself, and our vision for the community extends beyond the limits of our walls. More holistically, we’re building our center on the bedrock tenets of:

Safety and well-being

The welfare of the children and caregivers in our center is our absolute priority. Toward this end, our center will feature state-of-the-art security and access control, alongside dedicated security personnel on-site throughout our hours of operation.

Vigilance, warmth and ongoing growth

Our team is the soul of our center, and our culture is our team’s guiding light. We adhere to our roles as both protectors and nurturers, we invest in each other, and we bring our best each and every day to both parents and children.

Cultivated wonder

A sense of boundless wonder is one of the greatest and most precious blessings of childhood. Our Montessori-inspired educational philosophy seeks to cultivate that wonder in children, while imparting a lifelong love of learning to those in our care.

Connected community

Parenting in the context of daily life can be quite demanding, but such demands are lighter when shared. Outside of our normal operating hours, we seek to use our center to bring parents together through events designed to educate, inform and form connections between parents from across our community.
